Kochi, Aug 1 (PTI) The ABVP, a pro-RSS student organisation, on Saturday hailed the President’s assent to the anti-paper leak law, describing it as a landmark measure to curb organised examination crimes and strengthen the transparency and credibility of the country’s examination system.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the two-day Central Executive Committee meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Aluva near here, its National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki said that they had consistently demanded impartial investigations into examination irregularities, stringent action against those responsible and comprehensive reforms in the examination system.
“The President’s assent to the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Act, 2026, is a landmark step towards curbing organised examination crimes and strengthening the transparency, security and credibility of India’s examination system,” he said.
Solanki said students’ concerns should be resolved through dialogue, democratic processes, institutional reforms and transparent governance, and not through violence, vandalism or political agenda.
The committee also discussed the National Pharmacy Commission Bill, 2026.
Solanki said ABVP had submitted detailed recommendations to the Union government seeking a quality-driven, student-centric and employment-oriented framework for pharmacy education, along with adequate representation of academic experts in the proposed commission.
“We are confident that these recommendations will receive due consideration, leading to a stronger and future-ready pharmacy education ecosystem,” he said.
ABVP National President Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, National General Secretary Virendra Singh Solanki and National Organising Secretary Ashish Chauhan inaugurated the two-day meeting.
Delegates from across the country are participating in the deliberations.
In his inaugural address, ABVP National President Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari said that holding the Central Executive Committee meeting in Kerala, the birthplace of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya, was significant for the organisation.
Despite numerous challenges, ABVP workers in Kerala had continued to work for student welfare and national interest, he said.
Tiwari said genuine student concerns deserved meaningful solutions, but attempts to use student issues for anti-national or political agenda could not be accepted.”Student power must always be channelled towards nation-building,” he said.
He said the organisation would deliberate over the next two days on education, organisational priorities, student union elections, membership expansion, national campaigns and key contemporary issues before finalising its roadmap for the coming months. PTI TBA TBA ADB
