Mumbai, Jul 11 (PTI) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday demanded that 60 per cent of the residences under police housing should be allotted to serving personnel and remaining to those who have retired.

Addressing a news conference here, Thackeray said when will the government provide homes to retired police personnel.

“When will you give the rightful houses to police officers who have retired,” he asked.

He demanded a 60:40 allocation formula.

“Sixty per cent of the houses should be allotted to currently serving police personnel and 40 per cent to retired police personnel. If police personnel are provided houses at construction cost, they will not have to move outside Mumbai in search of their rightful homes,” he said.

“If the government does not want to discuss this issue with us, then it should directly invite police personnel for discussions. However, retired police personnel must definitely be called and their issue should be resolved,” Thackeray added. PTI PR BNM
