Bhopal, Apr 25 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has appointed eight 2025-batch IAS officers as assistant collectors at tribal and critical rural districts, calling these areas a true school of grassroots administration.
The decision is not just significant from an administrative perspective but also symbolises the spirit of social justice and public service, said Neeraj Mandloi, additional chief secretary (ACS) to the CM.
“This is not a simple appointment, but a well-thought-out, well-planned, and extremely meaningful initiative,” he told PTI on Friday.
The chief minister believes that only those officers who, from day one, are exposed to the difficult geographical conditions, the aspirations of disadvantaged communities, and the complex administrative challenges of tribal areas will be able to become sensitive, hardworking, and public-spirited bureaucrats in the future, Mandloi said.
He noted that tribal districts such as Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Anupur, and Sheopur are the toughest testing grounds for administration.
The rugged terrain, forested areas, diverse tribal culture, and development needs all combine to create an environment where a young officer learns not just from bookish knowledge but from on-the-ground experience, the official said.
The 2025 batch IAS officers posted as assistant collectors include Ayushi Bansal in Jhabua, Aashi Sharma (Dhar), Madhav Agrawal (Barwani), Somya Mishra (Singrauli), Shlok Vaikar (Katni), Shilpa Chauhan (Khandwa), Khot Pushpraj Nanasaheb (Betul) and Shailendra Choudhary (Mandla). PTI MAS ARU
