6 killed as container truck hits auto-rickshaw, motorcycle in Jharkhand’s Latehar

Latehar, Aug 15 (PTI) Six people were killed after a container truck rammed into an auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle in Jharkhand’s Latehar district on Saturday, police said.

The accident happened between 5 pm and 6 pm in the Dedh Tangawa valley in the Chandwa police station area, they said.

Among those killed were Afasari Khatoon (40) and her son Asjad (7), Chandwa police station officer-in-charge Manoranjan Prasad told PTI “Three of those killed were residents of Latehar. The driver of the auto-rickshaw also died and was identified as Ragib Khan (35), a resident of Lohardaga district, while the identity of two others is yet to be established,” he said.

The bodies were sent to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations, he added. PTI COR RPS NAM RPS SOM
