New Delhi, Jul 31 (PTI) A 50-year-old woman was found murdered at her house in Delhi’s Jagatpuri, police said on Friday.
A PCR call reporting the murder was received at Jagatpuri police station at 9 pm on Thursday, they said.
A police team rushed to the spot and found the woman, Komal, lying dead on the floor of the house.
The crime team was called to inspect the scene and collect forensic evidence and the body was shifted to the GTB Hospital mortuary for postmortem. Based on the statement of the victim’s son, Gaurav, police registered an FIR under Section 103(1) (murder) of the BNS at Jagatpuri police station.
Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the murder and identify the person responsible. They are examining evidence collected from the crime scene and questioning people acquainted with the victim as part of the probe.
Police said multiple angles, including the victim’s personal and family background, are being verified.
CCTV footage from the surrounding area and other technical evidence are also being examined to establish the sequence of events. No arrest has been made so far and further investigation is in progress, police added. PTI BM MDO MDO
