Bengaluru, Sep 12 (PTl) As many as 42 lake premises/temporary immersion tanks and 659 mobile tanks have been arranged across Bengaluru’s five city corporations for the immersion of Lord Ganesh idols during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, the GBA said on Saturday.
The mobile tanks have been deployed on a ward-wise basis to facilitate convenient immersion of idols, it said.
The Greater Bengaluru Authority has also established 122 single-window centres across the five city corporations to enable people to obtain permissions for installing Ganesh idols.
Nodal officers have been appointed to guide the public on idol installation and immersion and oversee the arrangements, according to a release.
The West City Corporation has arranged 161 mobile tanks and nine immersion tanks, while the Central Corporation has 146 mobile tanks and one immersion tank.
The East Corporation has 80 mobile tanks and 14 immersion tanks, North — 113 mobile tanks and 12 immersion tanks, and South — 159 mobile tanks and six immersion tanks.
The single-window centres include 22 in West, 24 in Central, 17 in East, 30 in North and 29 in South.
