New Delhi: A mother of two, Anju started speaking to Pakistan national Nasrullah some 3-4 years ago and the two got close after they met and befriended each other on Facebook.

The ‘love story’ came to light Sunday after Pakistan media reports said the 34-year-old woman is in Upper Dir district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where she reportedly went to meet her 29-year-old lover Nasrullah.

“I have come here with a lot of planning and in a legal way. It wasn’t an impulsive decision. I am safe here. I will come back in 2-3 days as well. I request everyone not to harass my family, relatives and children,” Anju said in a video message to the media.

The woman, according to the police, travelled to Pakistan through Wagah-Attari border.

This episode comes amid the Seema Ghulam Haider row, a Pakistani woman and mother of four who came to India to live with her Indian ‘lover’ Sachin Meena. The two are said to have come in contact on PUBG in 2019. The Pakistani woman allegedly sneaked into India through Nepal without a visa with her four children.

According to the Rajasthan Police, Anju, a Class 7 drop out, worked in a two-wheeler manufacturing company’s factory at Tapukara in Alwar. Her husband, the police said, works in a paint company. The couple has two children. No official complaint has been filed in the matter, so far.

“We came to know that she has gone to Pakistan through Pakistan media reports. No missing complaint has been filed in the matter. She left with valid documents,” Superintendent of Police, Bhiwadi, Vikash Sharma told ThePrint.

“She contacted her family on Friday and informed them that she is in Pakistan. She had told her husband she is going to Jaipur on Thursday. The family came to know about her presence in Pakistan on Friday.”

Anju and Nasrullah were initially detained by the police in Pakistan but were released after her documents were found to be valid. Police sources in Rajasthan said that she had got the passport made in 2020 from Delhi.

According to her passport, her birthplace is in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district. “She was born here. Her mother’s parental home is here. The family moved to Alwar some years ago. Anju’s parents had converted to Christianity some years ago which is why they have been out of touch with anyone from Kailor village,” a UP police officer said.
