Ghazipur (UP), Apr 18 (PTI) Three teenagers were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in the Sadat area here, police said on Saturday.
The accident occurred on Thursday night at Tanda Bairakh market when a motorcycle carrying Deepak Yadav, Shani Kumar Ram and Shubham Kumar, all residents of Mubarakpur Hartara village, was on its way to Shadiyabad to attend a fair.
Another motorcycle, carrying Vijay Rajbhar, Akhilesh and Ajit Kumar of Aspur village, collided with their vehicle, the police sources said.
The impact of the collision was so intense that it produced a loud noise, drawing nearby residents to the scene.
All the injured were rushed to a government hospital, where doctors declared Deepak Yadav,18, Shani Kumar Ram and Vijay Rajbhar, both aged 17, dead.
SHO Pannalal Yadav said the other injured persons are undergoing treatment.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further legal proceedings are underway, he added. PTI COR CDN SMV APL
