Giridih, Oct 13 (PTI) Two men were killed after an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle in Jharkhand’s Giridih district, police said on Tuesday.
The accident happened in Baddiha village on the Giridih-Ranchi Road around 10.45 pm on Monday when the victims were returning home after attending a friend’s birthday celebration in a nearby village, they said.
The deceased were identified as Suraj Turi and Tulsi Das, aged between 22 and 25, they said.
“Both victims died on the spot. Their bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital in Giridih for post-mortem examinations. We are making efforts to trace the vehicle,” Muffasil police station officer-in-charge Gyan Ranjan told PTI.
Following the accident, family members of the deceased and locals blocked the Giridih-Ranchi Road for more than four hours, demanding that the vehicle be traced and its driver arrested.
Ranjan said they lifted the blockade after senior officials assured them action.
