Jalaun (UP), May 16 (PTI) Two men were killed while two others sustained serious injuries after a speeding Baleno car lost control and fell into a ditch here, police said on Saturday.
The accident took place late on Friday night near the Kanhaiyalal Agarwal Memorial School on the Jalaun-Auraiya Road in the Kotwali area, they said.
Kotwali SHO Harishankar Chandra said the Baleno first rammed into a roadside tree before overturning into the ditch at around 11 pm.
The impact of the collision left the car completely mangled, trapping the occupants inside, the officer said.
Hearing cries for help, locals rushed to the scene, and, with the help of police, shifted the occupants to a community health centre, where doctors declared Shoaib (28) from Muzaffarnagar and Ismail Sheikh (26) from Ghaziabad dead.
Two others – Arif (30) from Muzaffarnagar and Irshad (29) from Aurangabad in Bihar – were referred to a medical college in Orai in a serious condition, the SHO said. PTI COR NAV SMV SMV ARI ARI
