New Delhi: Two deaths have been reported in India from the H3N2 virus, a severe strain of the influenza virus.
One person died in Karnataka, the other in Haryana, according to reports.
The country has reported 90 cases of this virus so far, while eight cases of H1N1 have also been detected.
States have been awash with rampant cases of flu in the last two or three months, most caused by the H3N2 virus, also known as the “Hong Kong Flu”.
This virus sends people to hospital more frequently than influenza’s other strains.
Only the H3N2 and H1N1 infections have been detected in India so far. Both exhibit symptoms like those of Covid – fever, persistent cough, chills, sore throat, body ache and nausea.
