Jaipur, Oct 20 (PTI) Two 13-year-old twin brothers were found murdered with their throats slit in Rajasthan’s Deeg district on Tuesday morning, police said.

Vinay Chaudhary and Vishnu Chaudhary were found dead in a vacant plot near their house in Badesara village, with multiple cut marks and head injuries, they said, adding that blood was also found at the spot.

Deeg Superintendent of Police Kamble S Gopinath said a suspect has been detained for questioning, while the motive behind the killings is being investigated.

According to the police, the brothers had left home this morning. When they did not return for a long time, family members began searching for them and discovered their bodies in a nearby plot.

The twins’ father, Niranjan Singh, had died earlier, after which they were living with their mother, Preeti, at their maternal grandfather Ghanshyam Chaudhary’s house.

The twins were the youngest of four siblings. Their elder sister is 18 years old and their brother is 15.

Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the killings. PTI AG SHS

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
