Chandigarh, Jun 12 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said that the 12 years of Modi government have been marked by trust, development, good governance and public welfare, asserting that India has entered a new era under the prime minister’s leadership.

At an event in Panchkula to mark 12 years of Modi government, Saini said India is moving steadily towards becoming a developed nation.

“The country is progressing at a rapid pace under Prime Minister Modi. We are now seeing a strong India, a new India,” Saini told the media at the event.

A series of initiatives launched by the Modi government has benefitted farmers, women, the poor and the youth, he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently completed 12 years in office. He first took oath of office on May 26, 2014, and subsequently won the elections in 2019 and 2024 to secure a third consecutive term.

Saini claimed the aspirations and dreams of the country’s people gained new direction and energy over the last 12 years, and their unwavering faith in Modi’s leadership got reflected in the mandate he received over the years.

Attacking the Congress, Saini claimed the party, which ruled the country for 55 years, did not strengthen India as it should have.

“The Congress only misled the nation. But its era of falsehoods is now over. It is under Prime Minister Modi that India has transformed rapidly over the past 12 years,” he said.

“The rural areas have changed, the cities have transformed, and the nation has progressed overall,” he added.

He also predicted that Modi will continue to serve as the ‘Pradhan Sevak’ of the country for a fourth term after the 2029 general elections.

“While every prime minister has his own vision, Prime Minister Modi’s historic tenure has given India a new global identity. Under his leadership, India’s voice is now heard strongly on global platforms such as G20, BRICS, SCO, and the United Nations, where the country is playing a decisive role,” he said.

“Due to the strong and decisive decisions of the Centre, the dream of a Naxal-free India is becoming a reality while internal security has been strengthened through a strong crackdown on terrorism,” he added.

Claiming that India has made unprecedented progress in the economic sector, the chief minister said, “In 2014, India was the 11th largest economy; today, it is rapidly moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. Despite the Covid pandemic, wars, economic slowdown, and supply chain disruptions, India remains the fastest-growing major economy.” Earlier in the day, Saini addressed a ‘Saini Mahasammelan’ organised by the Saini Samaj Welfare Committee in Rajpura, Punjab, where he said the Haryana government would leave no stone unturned in safeguarding people’s rights and promoting social welfare through policy initiatives and individual interventions.

The chief minister called upon the community members to work collectively to strengthen both society and the nation, saying only united efforts can make Punjab more prosperous and developed.

Attacking the AAP, Saini alleged that during the 2022 Punjab elections, the party made numerous promises that were never fulfilled, leaving the state’s people with a sense of betrayal. PTI SUN ARI ARI
