Shimla, Aug 16 (PTI) A man from Haryana was killed and four others injured after the car they were in hit three trucks, including two parked on the roadside, on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district early Sunday, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Akash (25), and the injured as Vivek (20), Sachin (19), Praveen (27) and Piyush (19), all from Gopalpur Gazi village in Haryana’s Rewari district.
According to police, the accident took place around 12:30 am near the Alsu Chowk in Sundernagar, when Vivek, who was driving the car, lost its control and collided with two trucks parked on the roadside. The impact was so severe that the car also hit a truck moving towards Nalagarh.
Police and locals rushed the injured men to AIIMS Bilaspur, where they are undergoing treatment.
