New Delhi: This Friday marked the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan, but unlike previous years, the Old Delhi market was shut after 7 pm due to the lockdown in place to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The famous eateries that line the narrow streets in Old Delhi would usually be crawling with people hopping from one shop to the next during Ramzan. However, this year, it remained deserted in the wake of the lockdown.

The Jama Masjid, which is also normally teeming with people, was deserted. Only the mosque authorities were present since people have been asked to offer namaz at home to avoid an outbreak of the disease.

ThePrint’s photographer Suraj Singh Bisht visited the area Friday evening to capture what this year’s Ramzan has been looking like.
