The four images tweeted by the actor showing people protesting against Modi’s visit to Britain received got 1,800 retweets.

New Delhi: Actor Prakash Raj tweeted Wednesday what he claimed were images of protests against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Britain. The images show people showing placards saying #ModiFail and ‘Neo Nazi Narendra Modi Go Back’.

Here’s what the actor tweeted:

However, these images are from various protests that happened in other locations and some of them are from three years ago.

The first image in which Sikh people are seen carrying posters is from a protest by a US unit of Shiromani Akali Dal outside the UN headquarters in New York on 28 September 2015.

The second image which shows women raising placards saying #ModiFail is actually an image from a protest conducted by Alliance For Justice And Accountability (AJA) in San Francisco. The protesters were objecting to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg meeting with Modi during his visit to the US in September 2015.

The third image showing women holding placards saying ‘Modi go back’ is from a protest in Delhi University. The protest was held when Modi was addressing to students from Delhi University in the Shri Ram College of Commerce’s auditorium in 2013.

The fourth image tweeted by the actor was actually taken in the United Kingdom but is not from the current protests. The image shows people holding banners saying ‘Unwelcome Fascist Modi’. The picture is from a protest held by the UK unit of the Federation of Sikh Organisations (FSO) and was taken in November 2015.

The actor was unreachable for comment. The article will be updated if he responds.
