US and Iranian delegations might be heading to Islamabad once again this week for another round of peace talks to end the West Asia conflict. Lahoris and Karachiites are angry over the undue advantage given to Islamabad. It’s a full blown Islamabad vs Karachi and Lahore.
An angry user on X simply said, “Take them to Lahore”. Another argued that it should be Karachi.
Those from Islamabad got cocky and chose to point out traffic issues in Karachi. “Bhai Karachi ma jitna talks ka time ha utna university road pe lag jayega (if they come to Karachi, the entire duration for the talks will be taken up in evading traffic on university road),” a Pakistani X user, Shaheer Adil, wrote.
Others had personal concerns. Talks or no talks, corporate workers share similar concerns — no WFH. Even with historic talks being scheduled, work must continue.
“Qayamat arahi hogi pr hmein office jana hoga (we will have to be in office even if it is the Day of Judgement),” a person quipped on X.
The sarcasm refused to stop. A user named Matt Murdock added: “Yeah right take them to Karachi, close the city which has already been dug up. Just bury them there and war over. Name it BHUTTO TALKS”.
“They’re gonna fall into a ditch somewhere in Karachi. Literally,” another comment read.

‘Will Vance be there?’
Then there were some who think it might do the city some good. At least it will be cleaned up “in a day”.
Others expressed robbery concerns. “They will get mugged man but it would be good since they might clean up bad actors then”
The expert memers had a separate query: “Will Vance be there?” When the US Vice President made an appearance in the country last week for talks, he took over the Pakistani imagination. There was a JD Vance meme everywhere — from him eating nihari to getting a degree, watching his used T-shirt being sold in Sunday market, getting a challan, being asked for his nikahnaama and even appearing on game shows.
A user, Yang goi, has already predicted Vance’s happiness at being back in Islamabad. He used a clip from the 2008 Bollywood movie Golmaal Returns to make a point.
