New Delhi: Those who were threatened by a free Imran Khan aren’t done yet and making sure the PTI chief remains under strict watch. A judicial review of Khan’s cell has revealed the presence of a camera focused on the former prime minister invading his privacy. And this development hasn’t gone down well with Khan’s supporters whose anger is visible on social media. As a result, Khan has now got a new washroom with a five-feet wall and a door at the Attock Jail.

On Monday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) unveiled a report prepared by a district and sessions judge who had conducted an assessment of the Attock jail where Khan is lodged in connection with the Toshkhana case. This camera placement was identified as a breach of his privacy.

According to the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Shafqut Ullah Khan, Khan’s apprehensions are not unwarranted.

The development has given Imran Khan supporters new energy to fight for their leader’s release. An Imran supporter wrote on Twitter: “I don’t care someone is dead or alive or someone is happy or devastated or anything, i just need Imran khan out of that situations in freaking C-class prison!!!

#FreeImranKhanNow is trending on Twitter in Pakistan.

PTI supporters are also alleging human rights violations. A Twitter user even tagged the UN drawing attention to the former PM’ detention.

Former head of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Muneebur Rehman, has urged a reevaluation of prison regulations following Imran Khan’s apprehensions regarding the absence of privacy around the toilet area in his cell at Attock Jail.

In a tweet, Rehman remarked that the nation should uphold Islamic principles and criticised the indefensible nature of this treatment, stressing that subjecting political adversaries to similar conditions during Khan’s leadership was equally unjust.

In the comments section of a YouTube video featuring the Pakistani presenter Asad Ullah Khan, individuals from Pakistan hailed Imran Khan as their ‘hero’ and shared numerous remarks about aiding his release from incarceration.

Support for Imran Khan poured in from US too where Pakistanis organised a car rally, advocating the release of the former Prime Minister.

All amenities outlined in rules 257 and 771 of the Pakistan Prisons Rules from 1978 have been duly afforded to the head of PTI, as highlighted in the statement released by the PPD.
