New Delhi: Several students and faculty members of UPSC coaching institute Vision IAS gathered at the main branch of the tuition centre in Karol Bagh, New Delhi, on Tuesday over the alleged non-payment of salaries to teachers and the subsequent disruption of academic activities. While the teachers raised complaints regarding delayed or withheld payments for several months, the students demanded fee refunds.
The ongoing situation at the Karol Bagh branch has escalated into continuous, multi-day protests.
“Classes weren’t running smoothly, and teachers were leaving the institute because the administration hadn’t paid the salaries for months. The students started protesting about the irregular classes. Around 500 students were present. Co-founder Anoop Singh arrived and tried to convince the students, but students didn’t agree,” said a faculty member on the condition of anonymity.
Later in the night, Director Ajay Singh arrived at the coaching institute, he said, adding, “Ajay Singh was only giving fake promises. Later, he was taken to the police station. In the end, the faculty members had to promise the students that the classes would be conducted from Saturday.”
According to students and faculty members, regular classes have been suspended, study material has not been provided, and the institute’s management has failed to respond to their concerns.
Students also alleged that they, along with faculty members, confronted Singh and took him to the Karol Bagh Police Station to seek police intervention. Some participants claimed he and his brother were not allowed to leave during the confrontation.
“The main issue is that they are not giving salaries to the staff and nobody wants to work for free. Some people haven’t been paid for eight months,” said the faculty member.
ThePrint reached out to the director over text messages. He is yet to respond to the queries.

‘They are harassing me’
A handwritten list of demands prepared by students includes continuation of old faculty, regular classes with a proper schedule, timely completion of the syllabus, printed study material, activation of the student portal, mentorship, weekly tests, optional classes, timely responses to emails and an assurance that students’ grievances would be resolved within seven days.
“I’m a person with a disability and have been working with Vision IAS since 2017. In November 2025, they terminated me without any notice and have still not cleared my dues. My three months’ salary, notice pay, gratuity and retrenchment compensation are pending. Vision IAS never responds to my calls, emails or messages. They are harassing me in an undignified way,” said Aditya Raj Kaushal, a former faculty member of Vision IAS.
Students demanded immediate resumption of classes and resolution of pending issues.
“People have complained about this to the labour court as well, but they have managed the situation with money,” a faculty member alleged on the condition of anonymity.
