Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 20 (ANI): Actor Priyanka Chopra, who has always supported fellow South Asian artists, has showered praise on actor, producer, and screenwriter Mindy Kaling, who has officially received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This achievement also makes her the first South Asian woman to earn this honour.

PeeCee took to her Instagram Stories to wish Kaling on her achievement, along with a sweet message.

The actress reshared a video on her Instagram that was posted by People magazine. “First South Asian woman to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! Queen. Congratulations, Mindy Kaling, so well deserved (red heart emoji),” she wrote.

Earlier on Thursday, Kaling too took to Instagram to share her gratitude and excitement along with a series of photos from the event.

Yesterday was one of the most special days of my life! I was surrounded by my dearest friends and family for the surreal and humbling experience of receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. @bjnovak gave such a beautiful speech. I was told after receiving my star that I was the first South Asian woman to have a star on the Walk of Fame. I’m humbled by that,” read her Instagram post.

Meanwhile, the ceremony, which took place on Tuesday morning, was attended by Kaling’s peers, friends, and family, including her ex-boyfriend BJ Novak.

Talking about Priyanka’s work front, the ‘Barfi’ actress will next be seen in SS Rajamouli’s tentatively titled ‘SSB29’ alongside Mahesh Babu.

The film is written by Vijayendra Prasad and directed by Rajamouli. Further details about the cast are still under wraps.

Apart from this, the ‘Anuja’ movie, which she recently produced, has made it to the Oscars 2025 nomination list in the ‘Live Action Short’ category. (ANI)
