New Delhi: The collective prayers of Imran Khan fans have been answered. He is finally making a comeback after a decade. A glimpse of the actor in the trailer of Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos was enough to send the internet into a frenzy.

“Imran Khan? Must be AI, right? right?” a fan commented.

Another asked, “Did I see Imran Khan in the trailer?” To which comic and actor Vir Das replied, “yes you did.”

Produced by Aamir Khan, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos has been co-directed by Das and Kavi Shastri. The trailer of the film was released today and it is winning the internet. Aamir Khan, Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Hustle fame Srushti Tawade are also part of the cast.

A comedy-drama set in Goa

The trailer shows Vir Das caught between his ambitious dreams and the absurd realities of his situation, as he navigates violence, run-ins with the Goa Police, and an unexpected romantic angle, all while sporting a Bob Dylan-inspired hairdo.

The comedy-drama, set in Goa, is loaded with humour and satire. It flips the popular saying, “India is not for beginners” meme and showcases how India as a country is for beginners. Fans have gone berserk in the comments section of the trailer, and have termed it “insane chaos” and “paisa vasool” already.

“It has full Delhi Belly vibes,” a fan wrote.

Notably, the trio of Vir, Aamir and Imran are coming together for the first time after the hit action-comedy Delhi Belly (2011).

Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is set to release in theatres on 16 January.
