New Delhi: Saqib Saleem said that being a producer is exactly like working in a call centre. It’s his first time producing a movie—titled Baby Do Die Do, which is set to release on 3 July.

In an Instagram reel, Saleem is seen talking about how he is receiving a barrage of calls, starting as early as 7 AM, from his PR team, marketing team, social media team, distributors, booking platforms, director, and his parents. He joked about Huma Qureshi (actor starring in the film and Saleem’s sister) “sitting on his head.” He also gave a shout-out and a “hat tip” to other producers for the work that they do, citing his own experience as humbling.

Saleem’s ends with the film’s tag line: “Karo, Maro, aur Karte Raho” (roughly translating to “Do Die Do”).

India’s first hitwoman

Known for his acting roles in films like Tashan (2008) and 83 (2021), Saleem also runs the Saleem Siblings banner. His upcoming film Baby Do Die Do is a thriller directed by Nachiket Samant, and produced in association with Pune 04 Films. The film stars Qureshi in the lead as “Baby” – a deaf and mute woman leading a double life as India’s first ‘desi’ hitwoman/contract killer. The character is haunted by her dead sister’s voice, blending high-stakes action, revenge, and emotional depth in the chaotic streets of Mumbai.

The creative team behind the film includes writers Jasmeet K Reen (known for the film Darlings) and Parveez Shaikh (known for Queen), with Nachiket Samant and Gaurav Sharma handling screenplay and dialogues. Cinematography is by Tojo Xavier, while editing is by Nikhil Parihar and Ashish Tripathi. The supporting cast features a strong ensemble including Sikandar Kher, Chunky Pandey, Seema Pahwa, Vidya Malvade, Himanshu Malik, Rachit Singh, and others, promising solid performances alongside Huma Qureshi’s central role.
