New Delhi: Ajay Devgn-starrer Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has crossed the Rs 300-crore mark at the domestic box office within 10 days of its release, becoming the highest-grossing film of the actor’s career.

The film earned Rs 22.50 crore net in India on its second Sunday, according to Sacnilk. Its domestic net collection now stands at Rs 309 crore, while the gross collection has reached Rs 370.80 crore.

Overseas, the film earned Rs 6 crore on Day 10, taking its international collection to Rs 109 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 479.80 crore.

Biggest opening of Devgn’s career

The film opened to a strong response, earning Rs 27 crore through advance bookings before its release on 27 September. It collected Rs 66.75 crore net on its opening day, marking the biggest opening of Devgn’s career and the third-biggest opening for a Hindi film.

After earning Rs 53.50 crore on its first Saturday and Rs 61 crore on Sunday, the film witnessed a weekday decline, collecting Rs 21 crore on Monday, Rs 19.50 crore on Tuesday, and Rs 15.50 crore on Wednesday. It ended its first week with Rs 245.50 crore net.

However, Drishyam 3 regained momentum over its second weekend, making Rs 26.50 crore on Saturday before its Sunday earnings pushed the domestic total past Rs 300 crore.

In the third instalment, Devgn reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant. Saurabh Shukla also makes a brief appearance, reprising his role from the second film.

Akshaye Khanna, who was set to return in Drishyam: The Conclusion, walked out of the project, and Jaideep Ahlawat stepped into the franchise as SP Crime Branch officer Rajveer Singh Tomar, the new cop investigating Salgaonkar’s case.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is backed by Star Studio18 and Panorama Studios. Pathak co-wrote the film with Parveez Shaikh and Aamil Keeyan Khan. The film is produced by Pathak, Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, and Kumar Mangat Pathak.

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
