New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party chief Abhijit Dipke took a dig at Bar Council of India chairperson Manan Mishra’s comment regarding the enrollment of NALSAR students.
“What if all legal cockroaches come together?” wrote Dipke on X.
His post came after Mishra’s statement that no student who graduated from NALSAR University of Law will be enrolled until further orders from the Bar Council of India.
Mishra also sought a report from NALSAR on students who mobilised a campaign not to invite the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant for the convocation.
“A student of Law, having no regard or respect for the highest Judicial Office of the country, is not expected to be a responsible or sensible Advocate, teacher or a judge,” said Mishra earlier.
However, Mishra announced on Thursday that the Council has closed all proceedings against the 2026 batch and no further action would be required.
“It was a hasty decision. The council had detailed deliberations and decided to change the order. The issue now stands closed,” Mishra told NDTV, adding that they don’t want any confrontation between the Bar and the students.

NALSAR students campaign
The controversy erupted after 450 NALSAR students started a campaign against inviting the CJI to the university convocation. The students protested against the CJI after his oral remarks last month while hearing a petition alleging police brutality during the Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi.
“Please don’t waste our time. We don’t have time to watch these videos,” the CJI said.
Dipke also asked for Mishra’s resignation.
“Time for Manan Mishra isteefa do,” wrote Dipke.
The CJI also responded to the BCI circular banning enrolment of students. “It’s a dialogue between me and students; who are they (BCI) to interfere,” he said.
