DUBAI (Reuters) – U.S. Climate Envoy John Kerry on Wednesday urged major producers of fossil fuels to support a phase out of unabated fossil fuels.

“We still have people who have not signed up to that. They are some of them among the major producers of fossil fuel and they need to immediately step up and be part of the solution, not the most significant part of the problem,” he said on call with reporters.

In April, the Group of Seven industrialised nations agreed to speed up the “phase-out of unabated fossil fuels”.
