HAVANA (Reuters) – Cuba’s energy grid suffered a complete blackout on Wednesday as Hurricane Rafael barreled toward the Caribbean island, according to grid operator UNE.

UNE said in a post on X that the hurricane’s strong winds had brought the system offline and that emergency protocols had been activated.
