New Delhi: Spider-Man is in Gokuldham Society. In the upcoming episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the friendly neighbourhood superhero from New York lands in the society to seek the blessings of Champaklal Gada. Jethalal, played by Dilip Joshi, calls him “Sanskari Spider-Man.”
In an earlier episode, producer Asit Kumarr Modi had announced that a special guest would be arriving in Gokuldham Society, leaving both the characters and viewers wondering who it would be. The mystery is finally revealed in the latest episode, where the surprise guest turns out to be Spider-Man.
The precap of the episode, released on Thursday, shows Champaklal blessing the superhero and wishing him success in his adventures.
“Khush rahe bhai, khush reh aur lambi lambi chhalange lagte reh (May you be happy, keep jumping high),” he can be heard saying in the video.

From Hui Ghum Yaadein to Malegaon Ka Superman
Sony Pictures has rolled out a marketing campaign for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and reaching Indian households through one of the country’s biggest sitcoms is perhaps one of the most unusual ways for the superhero to swing into audiences’ homes. If fans can’t watch Spider-Man in theatres yet, they now have the option of seeing the friendly neighbourhood superhero on their television screens.
Before swinging into Gokuldham Society, the superhero had already made an appearance alongside a “Spider Girl” in an episode of Hui Ghum Yaadein on Sony Sab titled The Spider-Man Syndrome.
The episode follows a lonely girl whose parents are too busy with work to care for her. After a spider bites her on the waist, she refuses treatment because she is a huge Spider-Man fan and believes she has gained superpowers. Following a series of incidents, she falls from a window, only to be rescued by a man wearing a low-budget Spider-Man costume.
Spider-Man fans across India have been left shocked by these promotional tactics, with many joking online that this is the real reason Tom Holland came to Mumbai alongside Christopher Nolan during the world premiere tour of The Odyssey.
This is not the first time an international superhero has unexpectedly entered the Indian entertainment space. From DC’s most powerful superhero getting a Malegaon-inspired spin-off in Malegaon Ka Superman to the planned Malegaon Ka Spider-Man, the idea has existed for years. Announced in 2012, the film revolved around an overweight Spider-Man, who is Superman’s brother. While Superman spent his time saving Earth, Spider-Man only ate and slept until the day when he finally had to step up and save the village.
