Mumbai: As Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana released in theatres on Thursday, Alia Bhatt dedicated an Instagram post to her husband, praising his hard work and that of others behind the film.

She posted two photographs of Kapoor from the sets that also featured their three-and-a-half-year-old daughter Raha.

“You poured everything into this one and somehow still had all of it left for her,” Bhatt wrote.

But the toddler didn’t just visit the sets of Ramayana, but also faced the camera for a scene in the film.

Kapoor, in an interview with BBC earlier this week, revealed that his daughter had even filmed a shot with Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey, who play Sita and Lakshman, respectively.

“She has given a shot with Sai and Lakshman also. So she’s really been a part of this journey,” Kapoor said.

He did not say whether the shot had made it to the final cut.

Raha and Ramayana

Kapoor also spoke about Raha’s interest in the Ramayana. He said he and Bhatt regularly told their daughter stories from the epic, and that she had become familiar with its characters after visiting the sets several times.

“Raha herself is so interested in the story of the Ramayana,” he said.

The three-year-old would often ask him about what he had been filming.

“Did you shoot with Hanuman today? Did you shoot with Sita today? What did you shoot today?” Kapoor recalled her asking.

He said he was happy that Ramayana would be the first story Raha watched on the big screen.

The second instalment of Ramayana is scheduled for release in 2028.
