New Delhi: Actor Avinash Mishra lifted the Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 trophy, defeating Ritwik Dhanjani and Orry in the finale.

The stunt-based reality show, hosted by Rohit Shetty, was filmed in Cape Town earlier this year. Along with the title, Mishra took home a check of Rs 20 lakh, a trip to Europe and a car. The top 3 finalists were also given a bike.

Talking about his win, Mishra told SCREEN that he has spent years being the “good-looking guy” on television but always wanted people to see him as more than that.

“Winning Khatron Ke Khiladi feels special because I thought I signed up for the show with a point to prove, but along the way, the person I ended up proving it to was myself. I have spent years being associated with television and, yes, with being the good-looking guy on screen. I enjoyed that journey, but I also knew there was so much more I wanted people to see in me. This show gave me the chance to put everything else aside and literally let my actions speak,” he said.

The 30-year-old added that he wanted to push himself to his limits.

“I came to Khatron Ke Khiladi wanting to test myself; I am leaving with a belief in myself that I didn’t have before. That for me is the biggest victory,” he said.

Right from the beginning, Mishra emerged as one of the strongest performers on the show. Whether it was underwater stunts, electric shocks or performing mid-air, he did not abort a single task throughout the season.

He also won the Swift Immunity Jacket, which gave him the power to either save a contestant from elimination or opt out of performing a task. Mishra had even saved fellow actor Karan Wahi during an elimination round.

Dhanjani finished as the runner-up, and Orry came in third. Farrhana Bhatt finished fourth and Wahi made the top five.

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
