New Delhi, Oct 16 (PTI) Jindal Ferrous on Friday said it has commissioned a blast furnace project set up with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore.

The integrated blast furnace complex includes a sinter plant, 2.2 MTPA steel melt shop (SMS), and associated infrastructure, Jindal Ferrous said in a statement.

The facility also enables recycling of metallurgical waste through the sinter plant and utilisation of process gases across operations.

“Developed with an investment of over Rs 5,000 crore, the facility reflects JFL’s focus on building integrated, resource-efficient, and future-ready manufacturing capabilities aligned with India’s industrial and infrastructure growth trajectory,” the company said.

Its promoter Abhyuday Jindal said Odisha has emerged as one of India’s most important industrial growth centres, offering the right combination of natural resources, infrastructure connectivity, policy support, and long-term manufacturing potential.

“The project is expected to create employment opportunities for 2000+ individuals while contributing to the economic and social development of the surrounding communities,” Jindal said. PTI ABI ABI BAL

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
