New Delhi: Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) said Monday that it detected a total of seven Chinese naval vessels and five military aircraft flying around the country since Sunday morning.
According to the MND, one of the Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan’s Southwest Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). Taiwan’s armed forces said they responded to the situation and deployed appropriate forces.
Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) reported Monday that “6 PLA aircraft and 8 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. One of the aircraft entered Taiwan’s southwestern ADIZ. ROC Armed Forces have monitored the situation and employed CAP aircraft, Navy vessels, and coastal missile systems in response to the detected activities,”
Taiwan has detected a total of 301 Chinese military aircraft and 165 Chinese naval vessels so far in 2024. China has been increasing its military presence in the region since September 2020.
