I am reminded of lat Congress veteran Acharya Kriplani that we politicians are a tribe howsoever big we may grow standing with our feet in sand and legs made of clay. As someone who views things more through an economic than a political or identity related prism, had often wondered how economic hardship was not weighing on the prospects for a third term. How, in the face of inflation, unemployment, tepid household consumption, the Josh could still be so high. Well, the electorate has answered those doubts. The ruling party is indeed fortunate to have fallen just 32 seats short of a majority.
Far from being shrewd Modi’s campaign has proved that he is desperate and insecure and wants power one way or the other. His concerns for India stand exposed as hollow when he can stoop to play one section of people against the other just to go 400 paar!!
Other politicians would have indulged in reckless socialism during election year, but Modi didn’t. So he is a little different from other politicians.
