As per Ravindra Jadeja’s comments Being Rajput or Rajput Boy only shows he is proud to be Rajput yet it’s your mind how you take it. If the reader takes it like ohh he is proud of his ancestors deeds which we all should be I don’t think that in anyway would be offensive or spreading somewhere a message of discrimination anywhere.
Apart from that there is no action from his end showing the inferiority of any other caste or something.

If you want India to be a caste-less society then you, Govt. of India and all Indians need to do following things:
1. First of all remove your Family Name “Yadav” from your name as it identifies caste in a similar way “Ravindra Jadeja” is identifying himself as a Rajput. Similarly, I recently found actor Randeep Hooda flaunting his “Jat” caste on a first time heard “International Jat Day”.
2. Second, end the reservation based on Caste and start it for a limited period (~15 years) on Economical status of a family so that one generation comes out of poverty and rest generations then compete with others as unreserved individuals.
3. Third, advocate a Universal Civil Code in India where there is no difference law for any religion or any caste in India.
4. Fourth, ban all religious teachings and spiritual teachings be it Muslim teachings in Madrasas, Mosques, Sikh teachings in Gurudwaras, Hindu teachings in Temples, Shrines, Gurukuls, Christian teachings through different Religious organizations etc. as the scriptures talk about different roles and different varna/castes in the Society and its universal in almost all religions.
5. Fifth, ban historical texts to be taught in India because when kids or anyone reads Indian mythology, they find Kshatriyas as the most powerful social group and when they read medieval history, they find Rajputs and Marathas as the most powerful social groups. So, history is filled with heroic sagas of sacrifices of those Rajput and Maratha Heroes, which is not easy to ignore. So, its better to ban historical teachings.
6. Moreover, if you, along with Indian Govt. or Citizens supporting you, are successful do the above changes in the Indian Social system, then please do one last thing to ban religion from India and make one universal religion named “Indianism”.
I think, there is no other remedy of your problem to cope up with the Indian social system. Or else, there is an escape route many other Indians like you are taking which is to fly abroad and settle there permanently because neither they can change the Indian society and nor they can learn to live or adjust with this society. This is how it is. So, it is up to you and to all of us Indians to choose what to do.

Whatever is written, is a personal opinion, as you write at the last. But in your personal opinion, you disagree with the Sir jadeja showing his personal believes and opinions. I have written in newspapers more than once that the politicians should stop accepting weapons a symbol representing various religion. But I don’t see the politicians would ever understand. I think the writer made a few mistakes in her article. Yes I don’t believe or support anything casteist. Similarly, Jadeja’s love of being a Rajput himself may not necessarily mean that he does not like or hate others for their being of different caste or race. If someone loves his own mother that doesn’t mean that he hates others mother’s. And who knows Jadeja may not think of Rajputs as a caste but as a people. As far as Mr. Ashish Kumar’s observation that Brahmins eating non veg. Bhumihar are considered to be warriors with land and spiritual knowledge, whereas Brahmans are considered to be saints and remain involved in spiritual and religious works. When the matter of being vegetarian or non-vegetarian comes, it depends on choice and parental culture. There is nothing written anywhere that this caste should not eat this. Throw your opinions in your caste-criticising mind and keep a check it doesn’t comes out.

The basic premise of the article is flawed and poorly thought out. The Rajputs were not a foreign force that enslaved Sri Lanka or Pakistan or Nepal or anyone else. So comparing this to Pakistanis celebrating as Ghazni’s is just not same. And within India no one is bitter about inter state conquests like the rajputs invading Delhi or Marathas invading the south. As per Ravindra Jadeja’s comments Being Rajput or Rajput Boy only shows he is proud to be Rajput yet it’s your mind how you take it. If the reader takes it like ohh he is proud of his ancestors deeds which we all should be I don’t think that in anyway would be offensive or spreading somewhere a message of discrimination anywhere.
Apart from that there is no action from his end showing the inferiority of any other caste or something.
On the point of saying boasting on his ancestors deeds I think he doesn’t need to prove himself to anyone as he has always proved himself on field through his batting bowling and fielding.

There is not problem when someone shows pride of his/her community. Even there are many processions on road on Ambedkar Jayanti, coz Ambedkar is pride for them! So there is nothing harm in it. If someone’s display of pride hurts you it means you feel yourself to be inferior. When you kill the feeling of inferiority within yourself, nobody’s display of community pride can offend you. If you want India to be a caste-less society then you, Govt. of India and all Indians need to do following things:
1. First of all remove your Family Name “Yadav” from your name as it identifies caste in a similar way “Ravindra Jadeja” is identifying himself as a Rajput. Similarly, I recently found actor Randeep Hooda flaunting his “Jat” caste on a first time heard “International Jat Day”.
2. Second, end the reservation based on Caste and start it for a limited period (~15 years) on Economical status of a family so that one generation comes out of poverty and rest generations then compete with others as unreserved individuals.
3. Third, advocate a Universal Civil Code in India where there is no difference law for any religion or any caste in India.
4. Fourth, ban all religious teachings and spiritual teachings be it Muslim teachings in Madrasas, Mosques, Sikh teachings in Gurudwaras, Hindu teachings in Temples, Shrines, Gurukuls, Christian teachings through different Religious organizations etc. as the scriptures talk about different roles and different varna/castes in the Society and its universal in almost all religions.
5. Fifth, ban historical texts to be taught in India because when kids or anyone reads Indian mythology, they find Kshatriyas as the most powerful social group and when they read medieval history, they find Rajputs and Marathas as the most powerful social groups. So, history is filled with heroic sagas of sacrifices of those Rajput and Maratha Heroes, which is not easy to ignore. So, its better to ban historical teachings.
6. Moreover, if you, along with Indian Govt. or Citizens supporting you, are successful do the above changes in the Indian Social system, then please do one last thing to ban religion from India and make one universal religion named “Indianism”.
I think, there is no other remedy of your problem to cope up with the Indian social system. Or else, there is an escape route many other Indians like you are taking which is to fly abroad and settle there permanently because neither they can change the Indian society and nor they can learn to live or adjust with this society. This is how it is. So, it is up to you and to all of us Indians to choose what to do.

Whatever is written, is a personal opinion, as you write at the last. But in your personal opinion, you disagree with the Sir jadeja showing his personal believes and opinions. I have written in newspapers more than once that the politicians should stop accepting weapons a symbol representing various religion. But I don’t see the politicians would ever understand. The acceptance of weapons by political leaders including PM (which also happens to be birth place of cricket hero) has increase many folds. After all he is a Cricketer who wants keep himself . Bhumihar are considered to be warriors with land and spiritual knowledge, whereas Brahmans are considered to be saints and remain involved in spiritual and religious works. When the matter of being vegetarian or non-vegetarian comes, it depends on choice and parental culture. There is nothing written anywhere that this caste should not eat this. The basic premise of the article is flawed and poorly thought out. The Rajputs were not a foreign force that enslaved Sri Lanka or Pakistan or Nepal or anyone else. The argument is self contradictory. And it reeks of hypocrisy. First, is identifying one self with their caste. Is it good or bad?. Going a stretch further identifying oneself with religion. Is that good or bad?. In a real socially equitable society you want ours to be,it should be wrong across the spectrum. When you say an upper caste person should not invoke his caste, same should be said about lower castes as well. I for one belong to lower caste. Secondly, Rajput identity does not necessarily mean it’s anti dalit or anti lower caste. There is nothing written like that. If you want to go by the identities of the oppression committed in history. Werent they individual acts. Of course some might have used their identity to oppress others. But by that logic what should we make of Muslims. Their history in India, atrocities committed in the name of religion. Justified by the wise men in courts basing their argument on THE written BOOK as acts against non believers =kafirs. In that sense the Hindus are still humiliated five times a day with loud speakers by invoking their identity so loudly. So stop pitting one caste against another. Equitable societies need not be uniform societes without diversity. So plz shut it madam.

This article makes no sense. There is nothing wrong in identifying by caste. A caste identity could provide feelings of belongingness or self-esteem.

I appreciate the writer she is capable of writing an article out of nothing. She wrote this out of a 17sec video. She talks and lectures about caste but still she carries her caste name attached to name . She can join politricks with good future in it.
