This government has set out to destroy India’s institutions from RBI to oversight committees and now IIMs. The govt has no locus standi on matters internal to IIMs when the practices of these institutions are recognised globally and a large proportion of BSE 500 leaders come from IIMs.

A 15 month or 18month full time Executive PGDM/Executive PGP is OK for 1 Year Course. IIM and others should maintain standard name and time for this course in india.

Disruption in education is happening as well . Emerging education model is evolving and government should embrace it . Otherwise India will loose its competitive advantage in management field .The 2 year program was started long time ago when India just got independence for freshers . Directors are right that they should look for number of credits earned. Government should understand that if IIMs have to global they should promote 1 year Full time MBA.
Govt. move is very welcome given that the BoG or the bad administration from the Director makes each of the faculties as kite dancing in the hurricane. Govt move would make the governance more accountable and transparent. IITs and NITs have a prudent governance mechanism and they are able to be ranked among top global educational Institutions.
