This article is not written based on facts and doesnt know the difference between under trials and convicts . Is it sponsored article from govt ? Please validate articles before publishing . As an under trial PC is asking his rights , whats wrong in it ? Please also write in detail about Bail Not Jail Policy
YES, ALL THOSE LIVING FANCY LUXURIOUS LIVES OTHERWISE SUDDENLY START SUFFERING FROM ALL KINDS OF (SOMETIMES UNHEARD OF ) AILMENTS WHICH REQUIRE HOSPITALISATION, AS SOON AS THEY ARE PUT BEHIND BARS. THE COURTS DO FIND SOME MERIT IN KEEPING THEM THERE WHY ATTRIBUTE MOTIVES? WHILE IN PUBLIC LIFE ONE LIVES IN STYLE, WHAT IS WRONG IF ONE PAYS IN STYLE WHEN UNDER CLOUD. THE LAW GIVES ONE THE RIGHT AND MONEY GIVES THE ABILITY TO EXERCISE THAT RIGHT, WHY COMPLAIN IF THE EXERCISE OF THAT RIGHT IN NOT CONVINCING ENOUGH FOR THE COURTS.
I think there needs be drawn a distinction between an under trial and a convict. Its a travesty of justice that an under trial -anyone for that matter is lodged in Tihar and serves time the way a convicted person does. What happens when he/she isn’t finally convicted the way DMK’s Raja was exonerated. Who makes up for the time lost incarcerated in prison? In India we seem to treat every under trial as one who has been sentenced. Innocent until proven guilty has been turned ard on its head to Guilty until declared innocent. This isnt for the present govt -its been there aeons and i think our legal system needs a rethink n a way to segregate an accused from being treated d same a convicted.
The author must understand that charge sheet has not yet been framed against PC. Whenever report about PC get published in newspapers, a particular para is getting on zero tolerance about corruption.
India is on a slippery slope: senior journalists like Bazmee write headlines condemning a man who hss not even been charge sheeted despite 60 days and more of jailing. Then you have the CJ of the Supreme Court spouting conspiracy theories.
Vinashkale viprit buddhi.
Sorry. Bamzai not Bazmee
I find the title insensitive, even cruel, only because it includes the name of P. Chidambaram. That Nityanand fellow who called himself a swami, who was arrested for the rape of a law graduate, “reported ill” I think on the very next day after arrest. Chagan Bhujbal, Lalu Yadav, and so many others spent a good part of their term in hospital. It’s praiseworthy that Mr Chidambaram complained of a health problem when apparently he really had one – – MANY days after his incarceration.

What would one expect from people convicted /charged of corruption to do in jail, spend their time ‘honestly’ atoning for their sins ?
As an article it is fine.
Dragging Chidambram in right in the headlines was in poor taste.
He’s clearly in as political vendetta. And the courts are repeatedly denying him bail.
Moreover, the author conveniently ignores people like A. Raja who were arrested but finally acquited. Not a word in that.
