The Supreme Court’s decision to approve the Central Vista project in the national capital is as it should be. SC taking unduly long to conclude critical cases, needs course correction on its priorities

  1. Politicians should follow suit? Stop point scoring? Can’t it be the case that a certain politician may be raising a valid point? When and how can a question gets classified as mere point scoring and not worthy of being answered? With Modi govt, the answer is that every question raised by opposition or for that matter anyone, is not answered by facts but by name calling and labeling – anti national, naxalite etc.

  2. As a student of chartered accountancy, one learnt the difference between First in First out and Last in First out methods of stock inventory valuation. Shri Arnab Goswami is fortunate to be covered by LIFO. One does not know what principles guide the SC Registry in placing cases before distinguished Benches for disposal. The four eminent Judges who held that press conference too were not entirely persuaded by the infallibility of the process. On matters of high constitutional import – 5th August 2019 would qualify – it should be possible to create a fast track process whereby judgments are rendered in no more than ninety days.

  3. Justice Sanjiv Khanna is a relative of Justice H R Khanna, whose name is etched in letters of gold in the annals of Indian jurisprudence.
