RN Ravi can kill bills by withholding them. But this stifles people’s mandate

Tamil Nadu governor RN Ravi says if he withholds assent to a bill, it’s dead. His Excellency is right. He can kill bills if he sits over them indefinitely. But this also amounts to stifling people’s mandate given to lawmakers. Constitution doesn’t obligate governors to obstruct governance in non-BJP-ruled states.

PIB fact-check is potentially censorship. Govt can’t have the power to remove content

The PIB fact-check endeavour is vague and potentially headed toward censorship. It’s not the government’s domain. In the crowded online town square of ideas, there’s fake content on all sides. Counter it with truth or go to court. Government must not have unchecked power to remove content from intermediary platforms.
