India termed the attack by Hamas against Israel an act of terrorism. There was no ambiguity or equivocation in New Delhi’s position. Israel has now asked India to formalise it. There should be no reason why India can’t designate Hamas as a terrorist organisation. Hamas and Palestine can’t be conflated.
