Supreme Court’s ruling on the Punjab Governor’s role sets the House in order. It will hopefully end the impasse between Governors and governments in states. Kerala and Tamil Nadu Governors should also take cue and act in a manner that augurs well for parliamentary democracy, instead of ‘playing with fire’.

All collateral, including personal guarantees, should be recoverable by lenders. Several cases are pending because of this issue. They can be completed now. Businessmen also won’t take such guarantees lightly anymore.
