  1. If one takes the broad view, not good for South Asia. The prospects for regional cooperation and connectivity, even dealing with climate change in a water stressed subcontinent , recede further. 2. Feel sad for the people of Afghanistan. Girls and women being pushed further into the shadows. A failing state will become a source of instability.
