The Supreme Court’s bail to Arvind Kejriwal cites prolonged incarceration pending trial and exposes politically loaded partisanship in the investigation. That all serious allegations must be probed meticulously does not justify long incarceration for headline hunting and undermining political rivals. This gravely damages the credibility of prosecution and investigating agencies.

A language war is the last thing Karnataka needs. These are old anxieties from another era resurfacing when the state’s biggest priority is building better infrastructure for the next phase of the tech revolution. Karnataka has attracted talent from across India. It can’t afford a tear in its cosmopolitan fabric.
May the wise decision of the Supreme Court give confidence to all other Courts while hearing matters for grant of bail. Also its observations on the need for agencies to act with fairness and professionalism.
