By striking down Centre’s egregious “fact checking unit” as violative of Constitution, Bombay High Court has taken a virtuous stand for justice and free speech. It has again underlined why Bombay has historically been among our finest High Courts. Hope the Centre would be suitably chastened, and other courts inspired.

Politically-loaded social media slander and character assassination of the complainant achieves the opposite. If it damages BJP in its armed forces constituency, it’s the party’s problem.
