Globe has 195 plus countries and state of affairs can vary across. Irrespective of their extent of applicability it is worth studying men and matters across the globe. I am an academician -Good, Bad or worse; a neutral academician.
- Different countries may have different systems of Government/Governance. Why not the country has only one head? Either PM or President? /
- Election process – Presently PM is elected by Lok Sabha members and President by electoral college of many members. Why not a direct election? That is, let voters directly vote and elect the PM candidate and President? Same process may be there for electing CMs in every state—direct election by the voters. /
- Being a vast country there are so many aspiring for Power and Pelf. How to accommodate them? The same party may rule any length of time but the same candidates being in power may be limited to only two tenures. This must be applied to all -PM, President, CM’s, MLA’s, MP’s etc.
- Can Governor’s post be dispensed with? Maybe there in critical situations. /
- Are both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha essential? Lok Sabha alone not sufficient?
- The way there are recommendations for Doctor to population ratio, Teacher to student ration etc, should we not reflect on the number of MLA’s to population ration and number of MP’s to population ratio ? Just imagine the changed scenario. Post independence till now. Now the country has 148 crore population and 97 crore voters!! Should we not have a greater number of MLA’s and MP’s now keeping in view the drastic increase in total population and number of voters?
- Post independence number of districts in a state and number of states have increased and the demand for it is still there. Can they be increased further??
- In view of vast population, needs are both extensive and intensive. How to cater to them? Say, trains are run every day throughout the year. How? Berceuse adequate staff have been employed. In the same way enough number of staff have to be employed in other required sectors too so that public can vail services throughout the year.
- Both ruling and opposition parties should have some common agenda in the interest of the nation. This will reduce friction among them, reduce wastage of time and will be conducive to the development of the nation with all parties working towards the common agenda.
