Admittedly Local Trains are the lifeline of Mumbai. Now with the arrival of AC Trains where the monthly season Rail Pass is Just Rs. 1000 more than First Class Non AC train, there is a surge in the number of Commuters, added with an AC one single ticket costing Rs. 100 it has given the opportunity for the Second Class Non AC Low Income Group to travel in AC local train.

With the advent of AC Local they are blessed to have their young spouse with children travel once in a while enjoying the changing views of Mumbai from Big glass Windows with innocent smiles appearing on their faces a vision that fulfills the Social mission of a comfortable journey to one and all.

Similarly, Corporate and office executives try to find space and work on their mini laptops some are busy reading books physically and on Kindle. Some ladies with small children in vulnerable conditions enter in with the earnest hope that any youth will give them a seat and a windowed passenger will take the child and make him see the sights even though there is a separate ladies’ compartment which usually is always occupied and no place to sit and is at a fixed place. Some find a good time to Chat with some so loud the Voice that the Sleeping commuters find encroachment in their Sleep Some play games, some watch movies on their Android phones, some keep on chatting for hours some shout at the top of their mouths as if he is a very important person, as the train proceeds towards Virar the commuters are getting decreased as falling rain drops from the sky.

Right from old building views to New and Redeveloped Buildings to Skyscrapers in Mumbai Central, Lower Parel passing under the bridges of which most are old After Bhayander when train approaches Naigaon crossing the spectacular views of Sea and recent ferry taking passengers and vehicles from Bhayander creek to Vasai it is a delight to watch especially in the evening time when the sight of setting Sun gives immense pleasure to a tired and exhausted commuter When train advance Vasai, Nallasopara and Virar we can see open spaces full of greenery, especially during rainy and spring. Came Virar the train is empty.

This is the everyday story of Commuters in the lifeline of Mumbai.
