Recent news is of an Indian Professor at Stanford –Jayant Bhattacharya—being appointed as Director of the NIH (National Institute of Health ) USA after being elected in the US senate with a result of 52-48. How about adopting a similar system in India for appointing people at high levels both at state and central level? It gives a lot of credence not just to the appointees but also to the elected representatives of the respective state assemblies and parliament. Even the rejected candidates will be duly assessed and accredited by all concerned for the future.
