HANOI (Reuters) – The Central Committee of Vietnam Communist Party on Friday voted to add the police minister to the party’s Politburo, the country’s most powerful decision-making body, the government said.

The promotion of Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang, 58, was part of the party’s personnel reshuffle for the 2021-2026 term, the government said in a statement. The Politburo now has 15 members.
