TAIPEI, Aug 22 (Reuters) – A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft transited the Taiwan Strait in international airspace on Friday, the U.S. 7th fleet said on Saturday.
“The aircraft’s transit of the Taiwan Strait demonstrates the United States’ commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific,” the navy said in a statement to Reuters.
