SEOUL (Reuters) -Up to 450 “unlawful aliens” at a Hyundai Motor production facility in Georgia have been detained in a major raid by U.S. law enforcement and immigration authorities, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) said on Friday.

Earlier, news reports said South Korean nationals at the facility, a joint venture production site of battery maker LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Motor, had been detained by U.S. immigration authorities in a raid.

The Atlanta office of the U.S. Justice Department agency ATF reported the raid in a post on X.

LG Energy Solution declined to comment. Officials at Hyundai Motor were not immediately available for comment.
