Recent flood damage to China’s roads estimated at over 16 billion yuan, CCTV reports

BEIJING (Reuters) -Damage to China’s roads caused by recent flooding across 23 provinces, regions and municipalities was estimated at more than 16 billion yuan ($2.24 billion), state broadcaster CCTV reported on Wednesday.

So far, some 540 million yuan in emergency road repair subsidies have been allocated to local authorities by the transport and finance ministries, the report added.
