Islamabad, Apr 23 (PTI) Pakistan on Thursday criticised India for linking it to the Pahalgam terror attack, saying New Delhi was making “baseless allegations” at a time when Islamabad is undertaking concerted diplomatic efforts for regional and international peace and security.

Twenty-six people were killed when gunmen belonging to Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor to destroy terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The two countries were engaged in a brief conflict.

“At a time when Pakistan, along with its international partners, is undertaking concerted diplomatic efforts for regional and international peace and security, it is deplorable that India has once again resorted to a campaign of baseless allegations and propaganda to link Pakistan with the Pahalgam incident,” the Foreign Office said.

The FO termed it “unfortunate” that, in the midst of an ongoing regional crisis, “India remains focused on weaponising its false narrative against Pakistan for narrow domestic political gains.” It also accused India of undermining regional peace and security.

India observed the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack on Wednesday, with the Indian Army reaffirming its steely resolve to fight against terrorism, making it clear that for acts against India, “the response is assured”. PTI SH ZH ZH ZH
